Job Description
- Req#: 476366
- Plan projects in alignment with established business goals such as timelines, budget and quality standards;
- Manage sub-divisions and municipal projects based on knowledge of city specifications and experience with CCC and FAC inspections;
- Estimate new projects and change orders;
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as managers and estimators, to estimate and review bids;
- Review documents, project drawings, contracts and specifications in detail to acquire detailed knowledge about projects;
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including clients, consultants and sub-contractors and keep them engaged and committed throughout the life-cycle of the projects;
- Maintain and build on the existing customer base;
- Create, maintain and consistently improve project management processes as required;
- Evaluate projects success, follow-up and complete deficiencies in a timely manner at the end of each project.
- Completion of a 2-year degree (Associate Degree) in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent) is required.
- Minimum 5 years project managing experience within the road construction industry is required.
- Previous experience supporting paving, base, milling, foaming & concrete crews in various project management & coordination, is highly desirable.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract is required.
- Must have proven ability to be self-motivated and be able to work with limited supervision;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel, Google Suite applications and other ERPs such as Blueshift is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.
- Proven expertise in working with individuals across all levels of the organization is required.
- Ability to work long hours/some weekends during the busy summer/fall season is required.
- Must possess strong organization skills, strong attention to details and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and strong inclination towards process improvements.
- Estimating experience with capability of using Heavy Bid or equivalent system is required.

We currently have an opportunity for an Estimator/ Project Manager to join our team. This role supports our field operations for base, paving, milling, concrete & foaming crews. As an Estimator/ Project Manager you will be working in a full-time capacity from our head office, located in Edmonton. Reporting to the Director, Engineering, you will be responsible to manage civil construction projects.
