    • GED Math/ English/ Social Studies Instructor for Farmington Continuing Education. Position starts September 3, 2025.

      GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

      The adult education GED® teacher will provide instruction and is responsible for student learning in the vacancy subject areas (Math, English, Social Studies & Science) to prepare students to pass the official GED® test and obtain a GED® diploma. They will assist students develop the academic knowledge, workforce development/life skills, and attitude that will contribute to the student’s development as a mature, productive and responsible global citizen.

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      • Bachelor's degree

      • Valid Connecticut Adult Education Endorsement:

        • High School Credit Diploma Program (#106) OR

        • External Diploma Program and Noncredit Mandated Programs (#107)

      • Strong knowledge of GED® content standards.

        • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

      SALARY: $36 per hour

      WORK SCHEDULE: One evening, 3 hours per week at Farmington High School

      (28 weeks per school year – September thru May)
