The Office of Multicultural Arts Initiatives provides culturally relevant and transformative arts programming to promote positive social dialogue and to give cultural art forms a legitimate academic forum. Anticipated Start Date:

Regular weekly hours with monthly required evening/weekend hours (1st Friday evenings and 1st Saturday afternoons - Oct-April ;excluding January) Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

4 Qualifications:
Current UW Madison undergraduate student
Experience producing/hosting events (not required)
Experience with running live sound for eventsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- A willingness to learn new processes and systems, actively ask questions, and seek out solutions
- Maintains reliable attendance
- Ability to work well as a part of a team while making decisions independently
- Willing and able to set up before and bread own after events (loading/unloading materials, setting up tables)Position Summary/Job Duties:
- Attend weekly production seminar with OMAI Technical Events Director
- Assist with OMAI events and observe the inner workings of arts event production
- Assist in special event planning, logistics and execution
- Complete other duties as assigned, related to event planning, logistics and execution.
- Improvise when unexpected situations arise during events with guidance from OMAI staffPhysical Demands:
This position requires in person attendance and ability to help with planning, set up and break down of events. Accommodations can be made based on physical ability.
