      A Glimpse of the Job

      The Event Technician I provides event set-up and breakdown support, as well as general operation and maintenance of event related equipment.

      Essential Duties/Tasks:

      Event Support and Coordination

      • Operate equipment related to staging, lighting, audio, and/or video as needed for events within our facility and elsewhere on campus.

      • Execute event related needs as expressed by the customer or event manager.

      • Gain a thorough understanding of equipment owned by Rudder Theatre Complex and how best to utilize it in support of events in Rudder Theatre Complex as well as across campus.

      • Other duties as assigned

      Event Setup and Breakdown

      • Assist in the setup & breakdown of events across campus, to include venues in Rudder Theatre Complex & other buildings/areas of campus.

      Equipment Maintenance and Fabrication

      • Maintain inventory of event support equipment, when necessary, work with management staff on replacement equipment.

      • Work with fellow staff to ensure large item transportation carts are kept operational.

      • As needed, design & create transportation carts or boxes for large inventory items.

      Safety and Operational Practices

      • Explains and imparts proper safety and operational practices to team members.

      • Address safety concerns as they arise during events.

      Salary: $19.50 hourly

      Other Factors: MUST BE ABLE TO WORK NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS AS NEEDED DUE TO EVENTS

      Required Education:

      • High School graduation or equivalent combination of training and experience.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Ability to weld

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

      • Lift 25 pounds or more

      • Bend, stoop, stand for long periods of time

      Other Requirements and Factors:

      • This position is security sensitive

      • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures

      • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements

      • (If applicable) This position allows alternate work location per TAMU guidelines

      • Work non-business hour shifts, including but not limited to weekends.
