      Your Role and Responsibilities

      Event Strategists are the experiential arm of the Business Unit they support, helping drive the portfolio's business and revenue objectives by creating innovative IBM event experiences or as part of an end-to-end campaign strategy. As part of the Squad, they advise on the appropriate role of event marketing and the event marketing portfolio for the campaign. They're also responsible for demonstrating the value of events and experience in the client journey through meticulous data capture and measurement. Event and experience marketing is a discipline built around teamwork. They collaborate across the organization with squad members, field marketers, demand generation teams, sellers, external agencies to execute seamless events. They also manage and develop corporate guidance around event marketing tools, process, metrics, reporting, optimization, experiences, community, education, best practices, agency relations and engaging all Event Specialists globally. Responsibilities include:

      • Develop an event strategy as part of a multi-touch, surrounded with associated digital activities (webcast/Webinars) and social to drive increased and deeper client engagement.
      • Develop and execute events to target IBM’s priority clients by creating compelling content, experience, and formats. Client Experience Journey must include pre, during, post event touches that can progress the client's buying cycle with IBM.
      • Manage sponsorship, show-floor expo, the agency relationship(s) and ensuring implementation and execution of end-to-end event strategy and plan with highest of standards and as per event brand experience guidelines.
      • Collaborate and advice Experience Engine team, communications team on building Paid media and communication plans, ensure event specific response lead management plan is implemented.
      • Manage event budget, continuously monitor event performance thereby optimizing activities, ensuring event conversions & marketing created revenue commitments are met post event.
      • Collaborate with Brand, Content, Field Marketing and sales teams for event messaging, content, curriculum, sessions, speakers manage the process.
      • Engage Sellers & Digital reps and drive to registration plans and efforts.
      • Own, manage and develop guidance, education and communication around event marketing tools, process, CTEBA, metrics, experiences, agency relations, best practices, and response lead management in collaboration with various stakeholders.
      • Consult on one or more of the critical success areas of IBM Event Marketing like digital media, social media engagement, event content and messaging, experiential activations assets, to name a few.
      • Manage Purchase order and payment process through IBM approved tools for all events. Ensure 100% compliance for all process.

      Required Technical and Professional Expertise

      • 5+ years of experience planning and executing a wide range of b2b events
      • Strong project management experience and adherence to deadlines
      • Avid learner who consistently expands knowledge to gain new skills and expertise
      • Proactive listener that can use expertise to predict needs and prevent issues
      • Responsible team player demonstrating ownership and accountability
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
      • Experience with event technology systems such as registration sites, event management platforms and mobile apps.

      Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing/ event management or related discipline.
