      What We Offer

      This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work 8 hours per week and no more than 30 hours per week. The pay for this position is $21.47/hour. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.

      Location & Schedule

      In this position you can expect to work on site at one of our Denver recreation centers (based on event scheduling). Staff will primarily work out of Carla Madison Recreation Center and/or Central Park Recreation Center (possibility of additional locations in the future).

      We are looking for individuals who are available to work any/all the scheduled shifts listed below:

      • Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

      • Saturday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

      • Sunday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

      Who We Are & What You’ll Do

      Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) operates 30 recreation centers, 29 pools and 10 program areas, providing safe spaces and dynamic activities for communities throughout the city to enjoy. With a variety of centers and room sizes, our recreation centers are capable of hosting small, mid-size, and large events including birthday and graduation parties, family reunions, corporate events and meetings.

      We are looking to bring on part-time Event Facilitators to support our facility rental operations. In this role, you will work closely with permit holders and serve as the 'day-of' contact. You will also conduct walk-throughs and damage assessments, and be present the day-of for events to ensure rules and regulations are followed and that the venue is in good condition at the end of the event.

      Specifically, as the Events Facilitator you will:

      • Conduct tours with permit holders to ensure their needs can be met

      • Explain regulations, policies, and procedures to permit holders

      • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails regarding inquiries and bookings

      • Communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders

      • Respond to event related emergencies and resolve issues, or coordinate with the supervisor to resolve the issues

      • Serve as the on-site, day-of event contact for private events held at the venue

      • Oversee on-site operations of events to ensure all rules, regulations, alcohol policies, and permit contract agreements are followed

      • Assess damages and walk through a pre- and post-event checklist with the permit holder

      • Perform all other duties as assigned

      About You

      What You’ll Bring

      We are looking for outgoing Event Facilitators who ensure that events at our venues run smoothly from start to finish. Strong consideration will be given to candidates who have previous event facilitation experience, particularly with corporate or wedding events.

      In addition, our ideal candidate will have:

      • Availability to work evenings, nights, and weekends

      • Experience in customer conflict resolution/mediation

      • Event facilitation and/or food and beverage service industry experience

      • Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification(s)

      Required Minimum Qualifications

      • Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate

      • Experience: Two (2) years of customer service work in special events or related industry

      • Education/Experience: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements
