Requisition ID req31131 Working Title Events Planner Position Grade 11 Position Summary The University Of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) is seeking an Events Planner who will be responsible for the overall planning and execution of logistics surrounding events as well as serving as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding CON events. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
This role will require both in-person and online activities to effectively communicate with constituents and event attendees. We have an office environment that fosters teamwork and collaboration which is needed for supporting all CON events and celebrations.
Primary Responsibilities include:
· Primary responsibilities include managing the full spectrum of event management such as selecting a venue, planning logistics, and assisting with event scripts under the direction of the Marketing, Alumni and Outreach Officer
· Track expenses to stay within the boundaries of the project budget
· Work with applicable meeting and event programs such as mobile apps, registration systems, and websites
· Develop assignment schedules for all staffing requirements for the professional event presentation
· Evaluates program/event histories, budget considerations, contractual provisions, and planning committee recommendations to determine requirements as to space, facilities, technology, equipment, lodging, catering, and on-site management.
· Meets with faculty or staff regarding proposed events to go through and establish goals, budget and logistical needs from our team and other staff.
· Assists in the training and mentorship of the Special Events Coordinator
· Maintain and generate positive public relations with clients, exhibitors, community partners, patrons, and staff

Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
