- Coordinate work across the different departments of the organization to develop an inclusive events strategy that helps foster innovation adoption across therapeutic areas.
- Support a fiscally responsible program by championing and following sound financial practices through accurate business planning and forecasting,
- Monitor revenues and expenditures, reporting in accordance with the Accountability and Risk Management frameworks, following procurement guidelines, and acquiring goods and services in the most effective manner.
- Use strategic thinking to plan interventions that optimize available resources in a fiscally responsible manner, including effectively forecasting needs, promoting workforce productivity initiatives, and deploying resources to optimal scope.
- Responsible for organizing event components by proactively seeking and recommending opportunities for event efficiency and innovation
- Facilitate events focused collaborations between NS Health and other health science institutions such as universities, other health authorities and hospitals
- Build relationships across departments that support internal culture change and build interdisciplinary teams that can execute on event goals
- This position requires strength in organization, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, fiscally responsible, technical proficiency, and time management for success in this role
- Undergraduate Degree in relevant discipline or college Diploma in Event Management Required; Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
- Experience with Enterprise marketing is an asset
- Experience in the local innovation ecosystem is a definite asset
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in space planning, including balancing multiple stakeholders needs and competing priorities, required
- Strong Understanding of current healthcare market and market trends
- High Level competence in establishing the creative direction and driving within the team and all outside vendors ensuring compliance with brand guidelines and all other policies and procedures
- Experience with event marketing strategy development, positioning and execution
- Strong technical event execution expertise
- Ability to support the execution of marketing content, trade show materials and collateral that support service offerings and create differentiation
- Experience in managing multi-stakeholder initiatives and projects and with stakeholder liaison and management
- Budget management experience
- Experience in engaging, mentoring, and empowering teams and stakeholders in a collaborative, participative manner to respond to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of an organization.
- Experience in project management principles and implementation
- Excellent analytical, organizational, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships and interact with all clients in scope
- High level of competence in both written and verbal communication
- Experience working with diversity of staff and stakeholders, with knowledge of cultural competence, diversity, and social inclusion
- Sound knowledge of information systems and financial management

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of Events, the Event Planner is responsible for leading the planning and execution of a portfolio of strategic events while adhering to budget, scope, and schedule requirements. The Event Planner will coordinate efforts for their portfolio of projects both within Nova Scotia Health and through a variety of vendors and for ensuring that the business development team is kept up to date on projects and brought in as needed. This role will interface with internal clinical departments to mobilize the launch of new services and demonstrate innovation through key speakers, slide decks, events and working closely with the RI&D leadership team and the Manager of Events to establish a high quality and professional events. Externally, the role will interface with the innovation ecosystem funders, private industry, academia, start-up companies, government departments, etc.

This role will be critical to establishing the infrastructure internally and the partnerships externally to support the introduction of new technologies and services at NS Health. It will leverage strategic thinking capabilities, business acumen, effective collaboration, and relationship development.About You

Salary Information
$28.89 hourly - $36.11 hourly
$56,335.50 annually - $70,414.50 annually
