- Analyze and determine event-specific client event requirements.
- Inform clients about McCaw Hall and Seattle Center policies, procedures, requirements, resources and associated costs relating to their event.
- Ensure that Seattle Center staff have timely, complete and accurate event schedules and requirements.
- Create pre-event cost estimates, post event labor and equipment bills and ensure that this information is provided to Clients in a timely, complete and accurate manner.
- Coordinate and direct Seattle Center personnel engaged in providing event services and support including stage, sound, maintenance and admissions staff.
- Serve as event liaison with Seattle Police and Fire Departments.
- Respond to and resolve non-routine client concerns and problems.
- Create pre-event cost estimates, create event orders and post event labor and equipment bills, and disseminate information to the applicable Seattle Center departments.
- Serve as McCaw Hall Manager on Duty for events as assigned.
- Supervise and direct the work of McCaw Hall personnel engaged in providing event services and support: monitor events for compliance with event service orders and performance standards.
- Collaborate with Hall General Manager, Production Manager and Front of House Manager to develop, recommend, review, and implement various policies, procedures, and projects to improve event servicing operations, client retention, and patron satisfaction.
- Upon request, assist Hall General Manager with facility and/or operations-related budget tracking and/or reporting projects for the McCaw Hall Operating Board and staff.
- Assist Hall General Manager and Core Staff in identifying, prioritizing, budgeting, tracking, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance, repair, and capital improvement projects in the Hall.
- Work effectively in strong cross-functional relationships within Seattle Center and with our Resident Tenants (the Pacific Northwest Ballet and the Seattle Opera).
- Participate in Event Management planning and take responsibility for assigned special projects and facility initiatives.
- Serve as a Seattle Center Duty Manager.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in professional performing arts and/or event management, including extensive experience managing professional stage productions and/or complex, high profile events for a range of facilities and organizations.
- Seasoned, organized, unflappable professional who can multi-task and is adept at problem solving under pressure
- 3 years experience working in a union environment.
- Proven ability to function effectively in a collaborative, interdependent team environment
- Proven ability to build and manage long term relationships and effectively collaborate with a wide range of individuals while interacting in a positive, respectful and productive manner.
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and CAD or Visio
- Ability to learn and use in-house event management system (Momentus)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service skills and a passion for the performing arts.
- Requires extended periods of walking and standing, the ability to climb stairs and, on occasion, move rapidly in response to situations requiring immediate attention.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

About McCaw Hall:
McCaw Hall is a world-class, 3,000 seat multi-theater performing arts center hosting over 500 events and over 450,000 patron visits annually. Owned by the City of Seattle and operated by Seattle Center, McCaw Hall is managed in accordance with a unique Operating Agreement with its resident tenants, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Seattle Opera. McCaw Hall’s Operating Agreement provides its resident tenants with on-going oversight and shared responsibility for the Hall’s annual budget and operations.
About this position:
McCaw Hall seeks a competent professional to provide oversight and event management for a variety of events. This position will prepare event service orders, ensure client compliance with conditions of contract agreements as well as review and communicate event information to operational staff. This position reports to the McCaw Hall General Manager.

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts, Business Administration, Facility Management or a related field and three years of increasingly responsible professional management experience, preferably in the theatre arts, live entertainment and/or corporate meeting business, (or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.)

The full pay range for this step-progression position is $47.54 - $53.27 per hour. New employees begin at Step 1 of the pay progression, which is $47.54 hourly. Current City employees’ starting rate of pay will be based on Personnel Rules regarding promotions.
