    • Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.

    • Meets all certification requirements including teaching area endorsements in the State of Georgia.

    • Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, pedagogical knowledge, and the needs of ESE students by providing relevant learning experiences

    • Plans lessons using state and local school district curriculum and standards, effective strategies, and data to address the differentiated needs of all students.

    • Promotes student learning by using research-based instructional strategies relevant to the content to engage students in active learning and to facilitate the students’ acquisition of key knowledge and skills.

    • Chooses a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate for the content and student population and uses those assessments to inform instructional decisions and create a safe and engaging learning environment.

    • Engages students in active learning using research-based methods, supporting individual learning differences, and utilizing diverse assessment strategies to analyze data and provide timely feedback.

      Qualifications:

      Daily attendance and punctuality are required to ensure the goals of the work unit are met.

      Working Environment:

      The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands:

      Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 65% walking/standing, 25% sitting, and 10% Occasional lifting/carrying/push/pull and/or assisting students with physical needs. May involve physical tasks, such as assisting students with mobility, transferring between wheelchairs and desks, supporting students with toileting, positioning, and personal care.
