      JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Examinations Officer (Executive Officer, SCP7-17) REPORTS TO: School Principal Job Purpose The Examinations Officer will provide crucial administrative support and advice to the Senior Management Team assisting them in fully developing the potential of C2k in the management of the school and in achieving the aims of the school development plan in relation to the assessment policy. Key responsibilities The Examinations Officer will ensure that: - School examinations (external and internal) are managed effectively and efficiently. - The Principal is provided with an analysis of external examination results. - The preparation and distribution of School Reports at the end of each assessment. - Substitute teacher cover is managed within the school budget. Training in the C2k system will be provided for the successful candidate. Key Tasks: Policy Development Assist the Senior Management in the development of policies and procedures to ensure that administrative procedures associated with the key areas outlined below are carried out effectively and efficiently, making maximum use of the school's information management systems in relation to assessment and learning. Administration of External and Internal Examinations & Assessments Be responsible for: · Ensuring that all examinations are conducted to the highest standards with regards to organisation, invigilation and security. · Ensuring that all students are entered for examinations as required by the curriculum. · The collection and transmission to examining boards of forecast grades, coursework marks, portfolio marks and samples for moderation. · In liaison with the Special Needs Coordinator, making suitable arrangements for those students who have learning difficulties and who have specific requirements. · Collection of assessment results from examination boards and their distribution to relevant staff and to students in the most appropriate form. · Producing timetables and supervision schedules for internal and external examinations. The booking and supervision of external invigilators. · Managing the electronic data interchange between the school and DENI and the school and the examination boards. · Liaison with the Vice-Principal curriculum, making arrangements for the supervision of pupils entering · Liaison with the assistant examinations officer. Analysis of Assessment Results Provide the Principal with a statistical analysis of all external assessment results. Administration of Teaching Staff Cover · Liaising with the Vice Principal Pastoral in relation to all teaching staff absences. · Administering the cover software to ensure that all absences are recorded and classes of absent teachers are supervised. · Liaise with Office Manager to provide information regarding monthly returns for substitute teachers. Production of monthly, term and annual reports for the Principal Administration of Reports · Liaising with Vice-Principal in relation to the administration of electronic reporting. · Maintaining the electronic reporting system, ensuring that the system is ready for the December/March and June reports. · Preparing and collating the distribution of reports at the end of the assessment process.
