      Salary: $14.8500/hourly ($30,888.00 annually)

      The Department of Economic Security, Division of Employment and Rehabilitation Services (DERS) strengthens Arizona communities by bridging and minimizing gaps to employment and independence.

      We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Examiner Technician 2 with the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Tax. This position is responsible to ensure Tax documents are processed, tracked, filed, and completed in a timely manner.

      Job Duties:

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
      • Examine and identify the Power of Attorney for processing and compliance with Federal and State law. Determine appropriate index information needed based on the document type and applied procedures.
      • In compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes, prepare liens and releases to be filed/recorded with the Secretary of State and County Agencies.
      • Reviews requests for levy to ensure the required notifications are met prior to the requests being sent. Types, mails, updates levy log to ensure all have been returned in a timely manner.
      • Types, reviews, and mails correspondence. Updates employer account with new address, email, and phone numbers.
      • Retrieve phone messages to determine correct department.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

      • Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, and regulations pertaining the submission of legal documents for collection enforcement.
      • Skills in Organizational, Mathematical, Spelling and Grammar, Computer, Customer Service.
      • Ability to examine documents to determine legal compliance with relevant laws, rules and regulations.

      Retirement:

      State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
