- Thorough knowledge of the organizational environment of higher education and large research universities to understand client priorities, issues, motivations, and constraints
- Thorough knowledge of organizational processes, protocols, and procedures
- Excellent consulting, relationship building and strategic thinking skills
- Excellent ability to establish mission and goals at the macro-level; to lead subordinate management to develop goals in alignment with mission
- Sophisticated leadership abilities to establish department goals, and motivate and influence others to achieve
- Advanced skills in strategy development, systems planning and change management
- Demonstrated ability to engage organizational, people and project-management using approaches that demonstrate a high level of familiarity with DEIB best practices
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses and have the ability to seek alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems
- Advanced degree preferred

Under the direction of the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, Chief of Staff, the Executive Advisor Manager is a critical member of the School of Dentistry leadership team and a senior advisor to help the School determine, articulate, and execute the mission, vision and strategies of the organization. The Executive Advisor Manager works closely with the Associate Dean for Administration and Finance, Chief of Staff, on change management, and in the development of initiatives in the operational and programmatic areas of the School; and plays a critical role in assisting all directors and managers in the supervision of over 150 staff.
The Executive Advisor Manager also provides staff supervision, resource management and strategic planning, and advises senior management on matters concerning multiple functional areas, departments and stakeholders to facilitate the development and implementation of long-term strategic decisions.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

We provide comprehensive oral health care services with over 120,000 patient visits per year.
