      City Experiences is seeking an Executive Chef for our operations in San Francisco and Berkeley.

      About You:

      This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences' RESPECT Service System.

      About the Opportunity:

      The City Executive Chef will manage back-of-the-house cruise operations to ensure high quality, service, sanitation, and guest satisfaction while maintaining profitability.

      Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

      1. Cruise Execution
        • Manage back-of-the-house staff, including recruitment, training, coaching/discipline, and retention.
        • Ensure effective execution of each cruise according to the Product Management Guide, providing guests with a seamless experience.
        • Direct kitchen staff efforts and coach sous chefs and Kitchen Supervisors.
        • Identify training needs and evaluate performance for all kitchen staff.
        • Rotate as kitchen shift manager as needed, ensuring adherence to procedures.
        • Maintain sanitation standards per health department codes.
        • Establish and execute department priorities based on long-term vision.
        • Develop kitchen budgets with Food & Beverage Directors.
        • Coordinate between kitchen and other departments.
        • Implement programs to improve service and quality.
        • Perform other projects as assigned.
      2. Kitchen Team Management
        • Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate kitchen staff.
        • Manage performance, discipline, and career development.
        • Develop positive relationships and teamwork.
        • Implement incentive programs.
      3. Guest Service
        • Resolve guest issues diplomatically.
        • Maintain safety and sanitation standards.
      4. Administration
        • Control costs, manage inventories, and purchase supplies.
        • Process invoices and manage payroll efficiently.
        • Ensure compliance with health requirements.
        • Oversee food quality reporting.
      5. Other duties as assigned.

      Requirements & Qualifications:

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Minimum 10 years of kitchen experience in high-volume environments.
      • At least 5 years in kitchen management, with culinary training or equivalent experience.
      • Knowledge of sanitation codes and ServSafe Certification.
      • Strong communication and leadership skills.
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
