      Position Overview

      Lead all aspects of RGA’s global Security Operations Center (SOC). Establish goals, metrics, determine opportunities for improvements, assign individual responsibilities, and provide training opportunities for associates. Determine and acquire resources needed for projects and support activities. Participate in the development of policies, procedures, standards, controls and security audits. Support IT related business planning requirements including, but not limited to budgeting, scheduling and workload planning.



      Responsibilities

      • Lead multiple larger and more complex projects and/or technology initiatives and apply innovative solutions to the administration of the Information Security team.
      • Oversee planning, acquisition and management of the installation of SOC products and technologies.
      • Mentor associates within the department. Perform supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining of direct reports.
      • Demonstrates leadership in technology architecture at RGA. Publishes technology strategy documents internally. Evaluates and implements new technology appropriately.
      • Maintain and foster internal client relationships. Take ownership of the relationship and ensure that clients’ objectives are met.
      • Liaison with and offers strategic direction to related governance functions (such as Physical Security/Facilities, Risk Management, IT, HR, Legal and Compliance) on information security matters such as routine security activities plus emerging security risks and control technologies.
      • Plan and manage resources ensuring all projects meet obligations and budget expectations.
      • Develop and establish strategic and long-range goals and direction for Information Security area of IT Infrastructure.
      • Analyze customer and business requirements, and assist team functions in the determination of priorities and application of resources.
      • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.



      Requirements

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

      Required:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

      Preferred:

      • Master’s degree and/or LOMA certification

      • 10+ years Information Technology or related systems experience with an emphasis with Security Operations and Telecommunications.
      • 5+ years management and technical leadership experience in Information Technology.

      • Highly advanced project management skills. Demonstrates ability to evaluate project objectives and scope feasibility, gain understanding, schedule resources, and manage budget to plan
      • Advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received by the customer
      • People management skills, demonstrating an ability to lead, mentor and develop staff
      • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Advanced ability to work well within and manage a team
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and/or sub-teams simultaneously, including the ability to delegate key areas of responsibility
      • Ability to adapt new methods and work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
      • Experience negotiating with third party providers regarding service delivery and contract terms
      • Experience negotiating IT hardware/software contract terms
      • Demonstrated success working with internal and external audit and compliance groups
      • Experience in security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, and application security
      • Insurance Industry knowledge

      The general pay range for this position is $145k-$175K per year. Base pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan.
