      Primary Purpose:

      Provide strategic leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instruction across all grade levels. Support principals, teachers, and instructional staff to ensure high-quality, standards-based teaching and learning that aligns with state requirements, district priorities, and best practices.

      Qualifications:

      Education/Certification:

      • Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or related field

      • Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification (required)

      Special Knowledge/Skills:

      • Deep understanding of TEKS, STAAR, HQIM, UDL, and data-driven instruction

      • Ability to lead curriculum design, vertical alignment, and instructional coaching

      • Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

      • Skilled in using technology tools to support curriculum implementation and analysis

      • Knowledge of state and federal accountability systems

      • Familiarity with management of state and federal education funds (Title I, II, III, IV) and instructional materials allotment (IMA)

      Contract Days: 226

      Experience:

      • Minimum of 3 years classroom teaching experience

      • Minimum of 2 years instructional leadership experience at the campus or district level

      Major Responsibilities and Duties:

      Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment

      1. Lead development and implementation of district curriculum aligned to TEKS and high-quality instructional materials.

      2. Oversee instructional frameworks and assessments that promote academic growth and equity.

      3. Support campuses with lesson internalization, PLC facilitation, and use of formative data.

      4. Guide vertical and horizontal alignment to ensure instructional coherence across the district.

      Professional Learning & Support

      1. Design and deliver professional development for administrators, teachers, and support staff.

      2. Coach principals and instructional leaders to build campus capacity and instructional leadership.

      3. Coordinate support for new teachers and mentor programs.

      Leadership & Collaboration

      1. Work collaboratively with department leaders (Special Education, ESL, CTE, etc.) to ensure all learners are supported.

      2. Facilitate cross-functional teams to align curriculum with district goals and continuous improvement plans.

      3. Present data and program updates to stakeholders including the Superintendent, Board, and community.

      Compliance and Accountability

      1. Ensure curriculum programs comply with TEA regulations, HB3, and district policies.

      2. Monitor student performance data and lead efforts to close achievement gaps.

      3. Support instructional audit processes, state assessments, and program evaluations.

      Personnel and Resource Management

      1. Supervise curriculum and instruction staff.

      2. Oversee instructional budgets, ensuring effective use of resources to support learning.

      Supervisory Responsibilities:

      Assigned teaching and learning personnel.

      Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer, printer, and presentation tools
      Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, bending, and reaching
      Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse
      Lifting: Occasional light lifting (under 15 lbs.)
      Environment: Fast-paced, flexible; some irregular hours and frequent districtwide travel
      Mental Demands: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and remain calm under pressure
