We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services. * Ongoing Appointment * Full Time - 1.0 EFT - 80 Hours + ADO * Classification: Managers and Administrative Worker Grade 4 (HS4) * Located at The Alfred The Department Public Affairs & Communication The Public Affairs and Communication team is the custodian of Alfred Health's reputation as one of Australia's leading health services. Relationships with stakeholders, government, community and our staff are central to what we do. The team support the organisation's day-to-day operations as well as its longer-term strategic plans and is responsible for: * Media relations • Issues management * Government relations and stakeholder engagement * Internal communication and staff engagement * Brand strategy and visual identity * Corporate communication, including annual reports and patient information * Digital communication, including web and social media * Event management * Community relations. The Role The role has two specific and overlapping areas of responsibility: 1. Provide high-level administrative, communication, and stakeholder support to the Executive Director, Public Affairs and Communication, 2. Serve as the Executive Officer for the Alfred Research Alliance (ARA), and administer its Secretariat function on behalf of the member organisations. Qualifications & Experience Reauired * Qualifications in Public Relations, Communications, Business Management, or a similar field. * Proven experience in a similar environment, preferably working with executive teams in a highly autonomous setting. * Experience managing and prioritising conflicting appointments for an Executive Director at short notice * Outstanding interpersonal skills, demonstrating cooperativeness, friendliness and assertiveness * Strong communication skills, with a proficiency in clear writing. * Advanced stakeholder engagement skills, including experience liaising with executives, government officials, and staff at all levels. * Excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability problem-solve under pressure. * Ability to concurrently coordinate with internal and external management across a variety of departments. * emonstrated ability to be flexible, proactive, and take initiative in a faced-paced, evolving environment. * Proven ability to prioritise, multi-task, and make informed decisions with minimal direction * Ability to assist in the improvement of administrative systems and processes. * Strong problem-solving skills. Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw and communicate valid conclusions. * Excellent PC skills, with proficiency in the use of all Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, MS Teams, One Note, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Cloud, Mailchimp and Salesforce. * Proficient in researching information using the internal sources, the internet and external resources. * Ability to manage budgets and financial reporting. * Highest level of discretion and integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to manage ambiguity. * Self-direction and ability to work independently as well as contributing in a team environment.
