      Exhibition Programs Coordinator (Regular, Full-Time)

      Exhibitions & Planning

      Coordinates multiple exhibition projects and permanent collection rotations concurrently per year: maintains the day-to-day status of exhibitions and provides exhibition information to departments across the Museum. Prepares draft contracts; negotiates with other institutions, independent contractors, and living artists on details of contracts; monitors compliance of contracts; and assists with budgeting, and financial reconciliation for exhibitions. This is a 24 month term position that may be renewed on an annual basis, pending the availability of funding.

      Responsibilities

      • Coordinate and lead planning meetings throughout all stages of assigned exhibition projects, working with the exhibition teams across the Museum (curatorial, registrars, art preparation and installation, collection management, graphic design, conservation, exhibition design and production) on a daily basis to manage projects.
      • Prepare and administer exhibition timelines, guiding the planning process simultaneously for several exhibitions at various stages of development.
      • Coordinate approval and dissemination of all official information regarding exhibition titles, dates, credit lines, etc.
      • Under direction of Assistant Director of Exhibitions and Senior Financial Analyst, develop packing/shipping budgets for exhibitions and help monitor and track actual expenses against exhibition budgets; prepare financial reconciliations and invoice participating institutions for touring exhibitions.
      • Draft and negotiate agreements for exhibitions tours, artist agreements, and independent contractors as assigned and in consultation with Assistant Director of Exhibitions and General Counsel.
      • Other duties related to project stewardship as assigned.

      Benefits

      • The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $64,480 - $66,000 , subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree
      • 2-4 years of museum or project management experience
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
      • Excellent computer skills with strong command of Microsoft programs. Knowledge of The Museum System, (TMS) and/or cloud-based project management software a plus
      • Quantitative skills to manage and track budgets and schedules
      • Collaborative nature, flexibility and helpfulness. Self-direction and motivation, forethought, a proactive, problem-solving approach
