      The Opportunity

      Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our Expeditor position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The Fabrication Expeditor plays a crucial part in managing work orders for manufacturing fabrication departments to ensure on-time delivery of products for production while meeting quality and safety standards with minimal inventory. The Assembly Expeditor will monitor final line assembly schedules and make changes as necessary and follow-up with any purchased part shortages to ensure on-time delivery of products for production while meeting quality and safety standards with minimal inventory.       Responsibilities

      May include:

      Fabrication Expeditor:

      • Follows up on assigned schedules from Fabrication Scheduler for work order completion.
      • Aides in creating, maintain and analyze manufacturing work orders and ensure that those orders are completed timely by the fabrication department..
      • Aides to determine which parts, job sequence, and appropriate machine(s) are needed to satisfy demand.
      • Collaborate with feeder department(s) to ensure that parts are effectively and efficiently manufactured as well as inventory needs are met and accurate.
      • Interact with all teams daily to expedite flow of material and BOMs and Routers to meet production schedule and resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or any changes to available capacity.
      • Track daily schedule attainment and identify any issues that may impact the schedule.
      • Aides work order management and reporting activities to track and drive schedule attainment.
      • Conduct scheduling meetings and attend meetings when necessary.
      • Assist with additional duties as needed.

      Assembly Expeditor:

      • Meet with Planners and other off shift counterparts for any issues that need to be addressed.
      • Attend shortage meeting with other peers to determine if any potential issues exist. Send updates via email
      • Monitor all deliveries/shipments to ensure parts are received/unloaded in a timely manner to protect the assembly
      • Follow up with Receiving personnel/warehouse for any potential issues
      • Communicate/Coordinate all schedule changes to necessary departments
      • Contact Purchasing and/or Planners for any issues that may need further attention.
      • Chase any part shortages, late deliveries or inventory accuracy issues to protect the assembly lines
      • Contact Suppliers as necessary to find appropriate information regarding shipments or shortages
      • Work with Schedulers to change final line assembly schedule based on part availability
      • Update assembly line schedules based on line requirements and shortages
      • Communicate to next shift personnel any issues that occurred during the shift
      • Participate in companywide 5-S projects. Work in a safe and high quality manner.
      • Assist with additional duties as needed.

      Nature & Scope:

        • Work within a predefined set of rules.
        • Be able to work flexible hours if required.
        • Be able to provide assistance when needed

      Qualifications

      Knowledge & Skills:

        • Intermediate skills in all Microsoft Office programs including Excel
        • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
        • Excellent organization and time management skills
        • Be able to work in a high volume fast paced environment.
        • Strong and effective communication skills including verbal and written
        • Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize multiple orders/projects.
        • Be able to apply good judgement and logic to root cause issues to arrive at reasonable solution.

      Experience:

        • 1 plus years of scheduling experience in a high volume high mix manufacturing environment.
        • Mapics experience is strongly desired

      Education:

      • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
