      Job Summary:

      Moves materials and parts within and between Raytheon buildings. The movement of materials within and between laboratories for production in process may involve paperwork1 data entry, or scanning, that directly pertains to the materials being moved.

      Performs expediting and follow-up duties to ensure completion to schedule or to prevent and eliminate assigned shortages of parts, materials, tools, equipment and assemblies. Responds to governing material movement system in support of daily Logistic Distribution Center (LDC) activities, coordinating and assisting in the movement of material with all other LDC employees. Utilizes various material handling devices/equipment as necessary to perform such tasks. Performs the movement of parts, materials, tools, documents, equipment and assemblies by either oral or written instructions provided by LDC dispatcher, Logistics department manager, governing material movement system, and/or customers (with logistics management concurrence). Operates mobile tracking system scanner utilizing standard scanning procedures to track material movement.

      *1st Shift – 6:30AM – 3:00PM – El Segundo, California. This position is an onsite role. *

      May be subject to drug or alcohol testing in the event of an accident during performance of assigned duties involving a company owned or leased vehicle or powered industrial equipment.

      Motorized power industrial trucks, electric/manual pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment may be utilized to perform material movement. Automobiles shall not be utilized in the support of this activity. Expeditors that are authorized to drive company vehicles must maintain a satisfactory driving record. Driving violations of a significant nature may result in the revocation of employee's ability to drive company vehicles.


      Responsibilities to Anticipate:

      • Perform the movement of parts, materials, tools, documents, equipment and assemblies by contacting and conferring with key personnel to support business needs.

      • Safely operate equipment such as electric carts or lift trucks, and the use of other material handling equipment in the performance of assigned duties.

      • Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean and organized. Adhere to all defined staging areas for storage of carts, pallet jacks, boxes, etc., on docks containing such demarcations.

      • Operates mobile scanner equipment and perform current scanning procedures for all movement of material in the performance of duties.

      • May utilize computer equipment for the input, retrieval and recording of information related to the performance of duties, including, but not limited to, utilization of governing email system to monitor and respond to email requests, monitoring of governing material move system in support of daily LDC activity1 entering of hours worked into governing timecard system, etc.

      • Be responsive to dispatcher when called. If driving vehicles or operating powered industrial trucks or other material handling equipment, utilize hands free device or return call at first safe allowable moment. When driving, follow all motor vehicle laws regarding cell phone usage.

      • Support all LDC safety initiatives and requirements, including, but not limited to: adherence to defined process for movement of mosler safes, adherence to posted speed limits and traffic laws when driving motor vehicles, utilization of Stop Work Authority card (where applicable), usage of seat belt when driving vehicles and/or forklifts, utilization of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, immediate reporting of on the job injuries, and/or medical concerns and identification and reporting of safety issues, etc.

      • Perform incidental related duties as assigned or requested by Logistics management, including the coordination with other LDC employees to assist in the performance of the duties and responsibilities described above.

      • May volunteer to serve on Critical Lift Team. Critical Lift Team prerequisites include valid forklift certification and electric pallet jack certification. Employees with temporary or permanent restrictions that prevent the lifting of 25 pounds may be excluded from the Critical Lift Team. Employees that meet these qualifications but do not demonstrate necessary abilities during moves may be removed from Critical Lift Team by Logistics department manager.

      • Collaborate closely with teammates to coordinate support across the campus by responding promptly to communication from Logistics Dispatcher / Logistics Manager to expedite or shift priorities for work requests.

      • Communicate effectively with customers and team members via email and/or phone to understand their support needs by providing timely updates on the status of work requests and address any inquiries or concerns.

      • Utilize powered industrial trucks (PIT) on a day-to-day basis to move equipment from point A to point B in accordance with safety guidelines.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • High School Diploma or GED

      • Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

      • Experience with safety protocols and safety requirements.

      • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Experience with managing records and tracking materials.

      • Experience monitoring material movement system queues and navigating similar systems to obtain and process work requests.

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Teams, Outlook).

      • Experience in collaborating closely with teammates and responding to directives from logistics dispatchers or management to expedite or shift priorities.

      • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in operating powered industrial trucks (PIT), including forklifts, manual pallet jacks, electrical pallet jacks, etc.

      • Experience in collaborating closely with teammates and responding to directives from logistics dispatchers or management to expedite or shift priorities.

      • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods of time.

      • Experience or demonstrated capability to lift and carry 25 pounds independently in a work setting.

      Additional Information:

      • The hourly range for this role is $20.58 to $33.37. The hourly range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
