      Job summary

      We are seeking an EXPERIENCED Clinical Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team. Your role will be crucial in ensuring accurate clinical coding and efficient processing of patient information.

      The doctors and nurses depend heavily on the quality of the clinical records to provide much needed information to the patients and other teams across the surgery. To undertake this aspect of the role you must be able to read large amounts of clinical information and have an eye for detail

      The successful candidate would work towards having their own workload and it will be an opportunity to manage your own time and provide a valuable contribution to the organisation

      Main duties of the job

      • Accurately code clinical information using Emis Web.
      • Process incoming and outgoing mail efficiently.
      • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure precise data entry.
      • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection regulations.
      • Contribute to team meetings and support colleagues as needed.
      • Monitoring progress of notes summarising against practice targets

      We are a team of 46, made up of doctors, nurses, receptionists and admin staff, working out of the two medical centres so you will be joining a well established and experienced team. We support over 11500 patients using Emis Web.

      • Matching scanned documents to patients records and tasking relevant departments when required
      • Medical summarising for new patient records
      • Coding information into the the practice clinical system
      • Reviewing medical records to produce an accurate summary of the patients medical history
      • Being instrumental in maintaining high standards of data quality, identifying and resolving issues when coding communications into the practice clinical system
      • Reviewing medical letters to ensure any action required is forwarded to the correct department
