      Department Overview

      The Enterprise Project Governance (EPG) department supports decision-making and leads governance processes for major projects ($25M and greater) and programs across PG&E on behalf of external customers and shareholders. Enterprise Project Governance advises the Project Review Team (PRT) and the Executive Officer Team (EOT), comprised of company officers and directors, on key considerations associated with major projects and programs, including safety, risk reduction, extent of condition, environmental and community impacts, long-term financial forecasting, and alignment with company objectives. The PRT governs about $2B in capital spend annually, and total project lifecycle costs under PRT authority are $17.5B. Enterprise Project Governance also facilitates reviews of Board-level projects ($250M and greater).

      Position Summary

      This position supports a monthly standardized reporting process as well as performance monitoring for the portfolio of major projects and programs to track progress and performance on cost, schedule, and scope through the Project Executive Reports (PER). The nature of the work requires a high attention to detail, ability to follow up and resolve issues with cross-functional contributors, and an understanding of project management metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). The position has broad exposure to largest projects and business issues across PG&E. This position also helps with improvements in the reporting process, develops dashboards and other visual management materials to present portfolio performance, and conducts trainings.

      The role is classified as hybrid (0-3 days per week in office), working primarily from your remote office and in-person in the Oakland General Office to attend team meetings or as business needs require.

      PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

      A reasonable salary range is:

      Bay Area Minimum: $114,000.00
      Bay Area Maximum: $182,000.00

      Job Responsibilities

      • Monthly review of projects and programs performance through the PER
      • Supports analysis and reporting for the major project and program portfolio, including actual production and material reviews with leaders.
      • Performs complex quality assurance on data to ensure accurate data is used in reports, and resolve issues as needed
      • Assists in developing and tracking metrics that provide data on cost estimation accuracy, current year financial performance, and other KPIs
      • Performs onboarding for project managers (PMs) and project control analysts (PCAs) prior to kicking off the monthly reporting process
      • Presents findings and makes recommendations to management or others within organization
      • Assists with publication of Enterprise Project Management communications and organizational change management.
      • Conduct training on new reporting tools or templates used by the EPG organization.
      • Assist with the production of the Major Projects and Program Center MOR materials

      Qualifications

      Minimum

      • Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Communications, or related discipline) or equivalent work experience
      • Six years of job-related experience, preferably at a utility or in the energy industry

      • Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
      • Applies understanding of project management best practices, terminology, and KPIs to drive better business decisions

      • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Unifier, SAP, Analysis for Office, Power BI
      • Experience with PowerApps, Sharepoint sites, SQL, Access
