      WHAT WE OFFER

      As a cross-divisional function of the Process Technology organization, Enabling Technologies pools expertise in key areas of process technology and supports process developments from laboratory to plant scale for all Covestro business units worldwide. Our mission is to realize process innovations for the circular economy and to enable optimum efficiency, quality and reliability for our existing production plants.

      As an "Expert (m/f/d) Reaction Technology" you will support all Covestro business units in the development and scale-up of new and the improvement of existing production processes with your specific know-how in the modeling and simulation of reactors and reactions as well as the planning and evaluation of suitable laboratory experiments and operational tests. You will be responsible for the following tasks:

      • Development, improvement and application of mathematical reactor and process models for the design and optimization of production processes

      • Conception, continuous further development and optimization of methods based on internal and external state of knowledge

      • Conception, implementation and evaluation of reaction technology studies / experiments with subsequent presentation in various committees

      • Responsibility for plant and equipment, including investment planning if necessary, as well as monitoring compliance with guidelines for process and plant safety and hazardous substances regulations

      • Technical management (e.g. work allocation, safety instruction) of technical staff, supervision of Master's and Bachelor's theses

      • Coordination of studies in close consultation with internal functions as well as collaboration or initial management of new / interdisciplinary projects / studies under the guidance (coaching) of the supervisor

      • Interaction with colleagues from various internal departments (e.g. Production & Technology, Strategic Marketing, Research, etc.) and external partners (e.g. research institutions, research committees, manufacturers)

      WHAT YOU OFFER

      • Completed engineering degree (chemical engineering, process engineering, mechanical engineering or similar) with a doctorate and/or proven ability to work scientifically

      • If applicable, initial professional experience in an industrial company

      • Initial experience in the creation and application of mathematical apparatus and process models with a focus on reaction engineering and kinetics as well as in the planning and evaluation of experiments

      • Relevant software knowledge (e.g. Aspen Custom Modeler, gProms, Python)

      • First experience in the professional management of technical staff and the guidance of Bachelor and Master students

      • Courage to question the status quo and implement innovative ideas

      • Personal persuasiveness, intercultural openness and a team-oriented working style

      • Very good written and spoken English and German skills
