      We’re expanding our factory network and introducing a new manufacturing facility designed with the climate in mind. Our Glendale, Arizona production factory is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and distribution center with cutting-edge technology and advanced systems designed with sustainability at the forefront. Innovative water recycling processes, zero waste to landfill, and fully recyclable product packaging made from food-safe materials are just some of the programs we’ve implemented to support Nestlé’s ambition for zero environmental impact by 2030.

      POSITION SUMMARY:

      As an Expert Optimization Engineer at Nestlé, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our Low Cost - Highly Efficient Operations roadmap. Your mission is to achieve the highest level of facility productivity by collaborating with key Logistics and Supply Chain functions, both internally and externally, at our Distribution Center. By focusing on Continuous Process Improvement (CPI), you will help pave the way for the future of distribution, optimizing all aspects of our warehouse operations.       ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but not limited to:

      • Collaborate with facility Leadership Team and team members to develop a clear strategy for Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) efforts, maximizing warehouse productivity.
      • Analyze data and operating conditions, including throughput, automation, and labor management, to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
      • Conduct thorough studies and analyses using variance reports to identify opportunities for enhancement, presenting findings to facility leadership and teams for change facilitation.
      • Evaluate operational systems for efficiency improvements, recommending changes as needed.
      • Coordinate observations on various warehouse activities to optimize efficiencies.
      • Facilitate pilot tests using Continuous Improvement (CI) tools, collaborating with local management for successful implementation.
      • Utilize visual aids to provide real-time data, enhancing teams' understanding of current business state and needs.
      • Prioritize and facilitate process improvement efforts, focusing on Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE), Goal Alignment, and other initiatives.
      • Ensure sustainability of achieved savings, provide additional training, and maintain project continuity.
      • Support teams through peer-based systems, safety recognition, cascading objectives and metrics, SOP updates, and feedback on improvement ideas.
      • Proofread SOPs developed by site Leadership, involving team members for accuracy.
      • Promote development of an empowered workforce and foster cross-functional communication.
      • Collaborate with Expert Optimization Engineers to standardize KPIs across the DC network.
      • Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives to contribute to overall success.

      MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL AND/OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS (licenses, certifications, etc.):

      • Bachelors degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

      MINIMUM TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

      • Essential CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) experience to drive operational excellence.
      • Preferred experience in manufacturing, distribution, or similar warehouse environments, providing valuable insights.
      • Highly desired proficiency with computer systems and related software for efficient data analysis and reporting.
      • Desirable experience in business, finance, systems, and total supply chain, fostering a holistic understanding of operations.
      • Familiarity with Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and Lean manufacturing methodologies preferred, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.

      MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIRED:

      • Preferred experience with SAP, enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.

      • Provide effective feedback and follow-up to drive continuous improvement and results.
