Job Description:

Reporting to the Manager, USA Exploration, the Exploration Geologist is part of SSR’s Au-Cu exploration program and collaborates with other departments of the company. The Exploration Geologist plays an important role in executing sound geological practices including planning, follow-up, target generation, logging and sampling, mapping, 3D implicit modelling, model interpretation, compliance with SSR’s best practices (including highest HSEC standards), QA/QC and reporting.

**This position be located in Nevada with close proximity to Elko, Battle Mountain, Winnemucca.

The Day to Day:

• Supervise and plan exploration drilling programs and technicians
• Plan field activities in a safe manner
• Describe and sample drill core and RC cuttings
• Interpret assay results and produce/improve exploration models

• Assist in monthly safety and mine operations meetings
• Develop the weekly planning schedules in conjunction with operations and engineering groups
• Create, verifiy and implement technical procedures for the exploration department
• Verify that QA/QC methods are properly respected in the sampling, drilling, geotechnical work or any other geologic activity
• Supervise the exploration drilling programs and Technicians
• Examine the exploration activities to ensure that they're safe
• Review the resource models and provide support to SSR’s Exploration and Mineral Resource teams
• 14 days of work followed by 7 days of rest when performing Field duties in Nevada and any required exploration jurisdiction; during periods of Office duties, a schedule of 4.5 on/2.5 off will be followed.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology &/or Geological Engineering
• Serve as a leader and mentor junior exploration geologists
• Experience working in a multicultural environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
• Physical capability and skills for field work, including camping

• Travel extensively during field season
• Travel internationally when required
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint
• Software expertise in Leapfrog, ArcGIS, ioGAS is an asset
