      Department Overview:

      Division of Extension Buffalo County is located in Alma, Wisconsin. The purpose of their work is bringing university research and resources to people where they live and work. This position will support primarily the Wisconsin 4-H program in Buffalo County.

      Schedule:

      Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:30pm with some nights and weekends for programs

      Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

      $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

      Qualifications:

      • Must be 18 years of age or older. Individuals 21 years of age or older preferred.
      • A post-secondary college student who plans to return to school in the fall.
      Employment will require a criminal background check

      • Evidence of effective leadership skills in school or community organizations.
      • Experience in youth related outreach education preferred.
      • Strong commitment to Division of Extension mission and the Wisconsin 4-H youth development principles and practices.
      • Experience with Microsoft Office computer software. Willingness to learn 4-H Online software.

      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      1. Assist in the planning, implementation, and delivery of 4-H day and overnight camp programs.
      2. Communicate with and guide 4-H members and volunteers as they participate in 4-H learning experiences.
      3. Communicate the value of 4-H programs using multiple modes.
      4. Assist in monitoring youth and adults to ensure compliance with program risk management policies and prevent accidents.

      Physical Demands:

      Must be able to lift 20 pounds of equipment.
      Must be able to walk and stand for significant periods of time.
