- Champion the commercial sales process by setting a high standard of excellence and ensuring that sales teams and stakeholders understand product, process, and project opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal corporate sales teams to educate and execute on product offerings and segment opportunities, ensuring alignment and effectiveness.
- Participate in monthly Pulse meetings with the Director, Exterior Metal Sales, along with other business-specific calls as needed, to provide updates and insights.
- Utilize CRM systems like Salesforce or Dodge construction network to develop expertise in lead identification, project tracking, sales actions, and follow-up activities, ensuring all steps are documented.
- Maintain an active sales opportunity pipeline for Top Projects (minimum 40 projects) and oversee additional opportunities managed by other team members to ensure success.
- Work closely with Metal Sales and Project Management Teams to track, assist, and close projects, documenting outcomes (e.g., won or lost).
- Build relationships with corporate subsidiary sales teams and other stakeholders to drive successful metal product sales and projects.
- Analyze market data, identify trends, fill gaps, and implement solutions to meet assigned sales results and uncover growth opportunities.
- Research competitors to understand their strengths and weaknesses, enabling development of proprietary or advantaged product specifications.
- Develop and maintain key customer accounts for exterior metal sales, fostering long-term partnerships and loyalty.
- Periodically assess industry trends, identify new opportunities, and recommend adjacent strategies to support continued sales growth.
- Lead or participate in initiatives aimed at improving processes and increasing sales efficiency.
- Gather competitive data on products and offerings, and present findings to business leaders to inform decision-making.
- Promote exterior metal products to internal and external audiences through engaging presentations, targeted communications, and management of product samples.
- Commit to ongoing learning and improvement by participating in team education, specialized training, and development opportunities to enhance technical competencies.
- Operate effectively as a member of the exterior metal selling team, collaborating with Independent Sales Agents, project managers, engineers, and coordinators to achieve shared business goals.
- Create customer value by developing proprietary specifications on applicable projects and leading internal and external follow-up efforts focused on leveraging the company's strengths.
- Deliver expert remote and in-person presentations highlighting exterior metal product solutions.
- Continuously measure progress in achieving the goal of being “easiest to do business with” through customer feedback mechanisms.
- Proven ability to drive sales growth, manage pipelines, and close deals in a B2B environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
- Understanding of construction processes, exterior metal products, and their applications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, independent sales agents, and subsidiary sales groups.
- Expertise in using tools like Salesforce or Dodge construction network for lead identification, tracking, and follow-up.
- Ability to analyze market data, spot trends, and identify growth opportunities or gaps.
- Excellent remote and in-person communication abilities for engaging and persuasive product presentations.
- Capability to address challenges, recommend process improvements, and overcome barriers to achieve sales goals.
- Skills in developing proprietary specifications and competitive sales strategies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development to enhance product knowledge and technical competencies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, primarily Word, Outlook, Excel.
- Ability to read architectural documents, measure, and navigate through architectural drawings in CAD or PDF formats.
- Functional knowledge of business and financial metrics to drive improved performance.
- Comfortable with creating reports and metrics to track results, ability to prepare and deliver executive presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business administration, marketing, communications, or a similar discipline OR equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of relevant experience preferred within commercial/light commercial construction industry sales with preferred experience in metal, architecture, and/or construction.

Reporting to the Director, Exterior Metal Sales, the Exterior Metal Sales Manager (EMSM) is tasked with driving sales growth for exterior metal products by identifying and pursuing opportunities, managing relationships with key construction stakeholders such as architects and contractors, providing expertise throughout the sales process, and leading direct demand creation from lead generation to closing. The role includes managing independent sales representatives or team members, fostering cross-functional collaboration within the sales organization, and aligning with managers of specialties and independent sales agents to ensure a cohesive sales strategy.
