What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Lead company-wide media relations, serving as an on-the-record spokesperson
- Develop and maintain media relationships, pitch media stories, and prepare executives for media interviews
- Coordinate and manage external media relations firm and vendor tools
- Create content including press releases, opinion pieces, and social media content
- Plan and coordinate strategic communications, rollouts, and event opportunities
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, English, Journalism, Public Relations, or a relevant field
- Minimum of 12+ years of progressively senior communications experience in healthcare and/or public policy
- Familiarity with healthcare policy and industry trends
- Exceptional written communication skills and proven experience with media placements
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in Crisis Communication/Issues Management
- Experience managing vendors and external firms
- Knowledge of media monitoring and media list development software and tools
