      We are looking for an External Relations Advisor to play a pivotal role in spearheading government relations, Indigenous relations & community relations, and external communications in Quebec.

      This crucial position leads external relations in support of Suncor's operations in Quebec and Eastern Canada, encompassing the Montreal refinery, distribution terminals in Quebec and Eastern Canada, as well as Petro-Canada's branded retail and wholesale network.

      Minimum Requirements:

      • University degree or related post-secondary diploma/certificate in Public Policy, Business, Communications, Public Relations or associated field

      • 10 years related experience in government relations, communications, community planning, and collaboration with public, environmental groups, agencies, and trade associations

      Responsibilities:

      • Lead strategic external plans to advance Suncor's business goals, fostering key relationships with government, Indigenous, community, and industry stakeholders. Advocates on policy, legislation, and regulation to support Suncor's interests

      • Collaborate with policy makers, industry peers and partners, harnessing the value in differing perspectives to input to/recommend policy positions to Suncor

      • Establish and maintain positive relationships to represent our business to government and at various community or local industry events and activities

      • Represent Suncor and industry through local industry associations and at various key stakeholder events/activities

      • Offer strategic guidance to the refinery VP, refinery leadership team, and leaders in other business segments, including Operations & Logistics and Sales & Marketing, within key areas of responsibility

      Location and other Key Details:

      • You will work at our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East

      • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs

      • Irregular hours may be required i.e., Emergency on-call, event management, attending functions, etc.

      • Some business travel will be required
