Job summary
An opportunity for an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) has arisen within Addenbrooke's busy ophthalmology department.
You will be working alongside our Lead ECLO and low vision administrator to deliver direct support and information to people with sight loss. You will act as a bridge between the eye department, social services and voluntary sector organisations. This is a vital role in meeting the needs of patients with visual impairment, liaising with internal and external services to provide a high standard of holistic care and raising awareness.
You should be proactive and solution focused, be able to work efficiently and autonomously. Candidates with relevant experience, strong communication and interpersonal skills are invited to apply.
This post is full time but job-share/part time would be considered for the right candidate(s). The successful candidate(s) can split their time between working from home and working on site, in line with service requirements.

Main duties of the job
To provide information and emotional support at the point of sight loss diagnosis. To assess visually impaired patient's practical and social needs and signpost to appropriate statutory support services. Oversee the CVI registration process.
