Job Description

- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Measure, cut, bend and shape metal materials
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Utilize other hand and power tools as is deemed necessary to get the job done
- Keeping the shop and work area clean and organized
- Works with a sense of urgency to meet short deadlines without compromising quality

- Proven experience in metal fabrication and CNC machine operation
- Experience as a welder or in some type of welding capacity a plus
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use personal protective equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Deftness and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of CNC programing
- Welding certification a plus

- Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
- Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
- Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
