      POSITION OBJECTIVE: Position has responsibility for building maintenance and protection, custodial and heavy duty cleaning, and grounds landscaping and maintenance. Position oversees the development and implementation of Facilities and Engineering Department strategies and ensures implementation of all strategic or service plans and initiatives. The position ensures department operations meet the Casino’s needs and maximizes the financial performance of both departments. Ensures long-term asset protection and effectively manages department budgets and capital expenditures to maximize the return on investment.

      JOB SUMMARY:

      Oversee the operations and maintenance of casino buildings and property. Develop and manage commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, HVAC and refrigeration, boilers, fire systems, overall building and grounds maintenance, and custodial and heavy duty cleaning programs. Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and operational facility as well as develop a team of qualified Facilities and Engineering Team Members at all levels.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Required skills and knowledge:

      • High school diploma or GED certificate.
      • Must have a valid Washington State Driver License and Driver's Abstract must not contain any disqualifying events per the NRWC Safe Driver Policy.
      • Management level courses through an accredited university, community college, or in-house training course.
      • College courses in building maintenance or related educational track.
      • 10 years' experience in building maintenance including mechanical systems, electrical, heating and cooling technologies, plumbing, refrigeration, construction, fire systems, equipment troubleshooting, and custodial or EVS operations.
      • 3 of these years in a hospitality environment.
      • 5 years facility management experience in a mid to senior level management position.
      • Demonstrated experience managing work orders through a computerized maintenance system.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of budget and expense management.
      • Ability to adapt quickly, think critically, and prioritize demands in various, potentially high stress situations.
      • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and NFPA standards.
      • Specific technical training for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, and ability to troubleshoot and/or repair.
      • Ability to develop an open and collaborative environment towards strengthening Team Member relationships in support of business needs.

      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Intermediate computer skills with experience in operating Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

      • Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
      • Ability to obtain a Class Ill Gaming License.

      Preferred skills and knowledge:

      • Bachelor's degree in Property Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
      • Certifications or apprenticeship in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or similar profession.
      • Gaming industry experience.
      • General Contractor License or equivalent experience in Construction Management.
      • Documented experience in Casino/Hotel expansion or development projects.
      • Experience with current CAD Design software.

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Ability to lift arms and hands above the head, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push and pull.
      • Ability to stand or move around continuously for longer than eight hours.
      • Ability to lift at least 75 pounds.
      • Manual and finger dexterity for routine paperwork.
      • Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
      • Ability to ascend and descend stairs several times per day.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

      • Develop and implement long-term strategic plans for Facilities and Engineering management, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
      • Provide leadership and direction to the Facilities and Engineering Departments, ensuring effective management and coordination of all Team Members.
      • Provide expert guidance on complex technical issues related to HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, and other critical building systems.
      • Engage directly with Facilities and Engineering Teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
      • Oversee the development and management of both department’s budgets, including forecasting, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective operations.
      • Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in facilities management.
      • Identify potential risks related to facilities operations and develop mitigation strategies to ensure safety and compliance.
      • Lead, oversee, and participate in major capital projects, including new construction, renovations, and upgrades, ensuring timely and within-budget completion with minimal business interruption.
      • Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring high-quality services and cost-effective solutions in accordance with NRWC Purchasing standards.
      • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of facilities operations.
      • Implement and promote sustainability initiatives to reduce energy consumption and environmental impact.
      • Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to ensure the safety and security of the property and its occupants.
      • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facilities operations, leveraging technology and best practices.
      • Promote a learning environment by overseeing the training and professional development of Facilities and Engineering staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
      • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including OSHA requirements and building codes, and promote a culture of safety within both departments and the Casino.
      • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on facilities operations, including performance metrics, budget status, and project updates.
      • Design and develop service goals, department objectives.
      • Works to accomplish strategic-project development plans.
      • Strategize and execute on short and long-term department objectives, company strategic initiatives, and contingency plans. Align department goals with company-wide strategic initiatives. Monitor progress and adjust strategies as necessary to ensure successful execution and achievement of objectives.
      • Foster strong working relationships with other departments to ensure seamless integration of facilities operations with overall organizational goals.
      • Provide comprehensive oversight of all personnel-related activities within the Facilities and Engineering Departments including the hiring process, terminations, staffing requirements, scheduling, and conducting department evaluations to ensure optimal team performance.
      • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to address issues and support the operational needs of the facility.
      • Ensure all required safety inspections are conducted in compliance with regulatory standards.
      • Develop and implement comprehensive preventative maintenance programs to proactively address potential issues, extend the lifespan of equipment, and maintain optimal operational efficiency.
      • Responsible for the overall management of computerized maintenance system including work orders, inventory, equipment life, and preventative maintenance programs.
      • Utilize data from the computerized maintenance system to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement improvements.
      • Oversee and manage all structural and cosmetic modifications on property ensuring changes are executed efficiently, meeting specifications, and enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the property.
      • Work with Team Members to develop superior guest service as well as an engaged workforce.
      • Detect and correct safety concerns in cooperation with the Safety Committee.
      • Ensures that the mission and core values of the company are practiced.
      • Fosters a success-oriented, positive, accountable work environment.
      • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in facilities management and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
      • Operates with high ethical standards.
