      SUMMARY

      Under direct supervision, maintains and services all high and low voltage electrical equipment in the hospital for compliance with hospital and regulatory standards and other duties related to maintenance are primary duties. Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams and to size and run conduit, E.M.T. systems and wire motor controls, demonstrated knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Performs all other duties as assigned.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

      1. Maintains and ensures that all electrical panels are properly maintained and carry balanced loads.
      2. Reports any unusual equipment conditions to the Director of Facilities immediately
      3. Maintains all emergency generators and automatic transfer switches to ensure proper functioning within code requirements
      4. Maintains an up-to-date electrical preventive maintenance record according to Engineering Policies and Procedures
      5. Performs Building Maintenance Engineer, Boiler Operators, Senior Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and Energy Management Supervisor duties as required or requested.
      6. Performs repairs, replacements and system upgrades as required or requested. Maintains an adequate inventory of electrical supplies for departmental use.
      7. Displays courtesy and consideration to patients, guests, physicians and staff.
      8. Work any assigned shift according to department needs.
      9. Performs all tasks in a safe manner in compliance with company safety policies and according to applicable regulations.
      10. Maintains confidentiality of all records and information, which pertains to patients, physicians, employees, the hospital and its related interests.
      11. Supervise temporary electricians, and coordinate outside electrical contractors.
      12. Works in a collaborative manner with others to accomplish the goals of the department and the hospital.
      13. Responds for overtime call back in any "Emergency" situation.
      14. Performs other duties as assigned.

      MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

      • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
      • Minimum of 3 years as an electrician in commercial & industrial setting required.
      • Valid and Clear California’s Driver’s License.
      • State Of California Electrician Certification and/or Electrical Contractors License required.

      PHYSICAL DEMANDS

      In accordance with ADA: prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking/sitting; lifts, positions pushes (up to 50 pounds); repetitive motion: keyboard activity; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; manual dexterity and mobility; touch, auditory and visual perception and acuity; adequate vocal pitch and volume; ability to move quickly; Vision Requirements: sufficient perceptive acuity (vision and hearing) to perform all the related duties of the positions.

      WORK ENVIROMENT

      Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness): emergency and crisis situations, subject to irregular hours.
