- Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, rebuild, and maintain all EWEB’s building and facility systems which includes all phases of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, door/access control carpentry, fabrication, painting, and plastering.
- Performs chemical testing and chemical injection of heating, chilled, and condenser water systems.
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of boilers, chillers, heat recovery systems, and air handling equipment, and for the operation and maintenance of the energy management systems and controls.
- Works with shift Lead and/or other Technicians for the purpose of completing projects and work orders efficiently.
- Help maintain Facilities equipment records involving inspections, construction/remodeling projects, and maintenance work order system.
- Assure compliance with safety requirements, related codes and statutes.
- Responds to emergency situations during shift and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate maintenance and safety concerns.
- Overhead crane inspections / operation.
- Forklift Operator Certificate.
- Knowledge of Vehicle lift inspections/operation (above and below ground).
- Knowledge of “MPulse” CMMS.
- Knowledge of Wastewater, stormwater, reclamation water systems (i.e., vehicle wash, stormwater system maintenance/reports, etc.).
- Knowledge of “Allerton” Building Automation Systems. Knowledge of Photovoltaic and Solar Water systems.
- Knowledge of Water treatment for CWS, HWS, reclamation, etc.
- FEMA ICS 100, 200, 700.
- State of Oregon DEQ Wastewater Collection I Certificate.
- EPA 608 Certification (Universal Refrigerant Handling).
- State of Oregon OHA Backflow Assembly Tester Certification.
- State of Oregon DEQ Wastewater Collection II Certificate (completion within program requirements-2 years).
- Must complete all requirements of Step 1 and 2 and reach journey-status within two years of hire.

- Minimum Experience: Four years' experience in commercial facility and residential building maintenance which includes experience in heating, cooling, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC) systems, electrical, plumbing, construction/remodeling, preventative maintenance, BAS/BMS operations, building and system commissioning, equipment installation and repairs, and A/V.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited two-year program in a trade relevant to this position (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) may be substituted for two years of experience.
- Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and education may be qualifying.
- Professional license or registration: Depending on the position, one or more of the following certifications is required. Out of State licensures must be transferred to the State of Oregon within two years of hire.
- State of Oregon Journeyman Electrical license (J, PJ, LME, LEA, LEB, LHR, etc.) or State of Oregon Journeyman Boiler Operator license (or equivalent Boiler Operator Certificate) or State of Oregon Journeyman HVAC license (or equivalent HVAC certification from an accredited 2–4-year program).

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and excel working in a team environment. The selected candidate will have exceptional customer service, be a safety advocate, have a strong HVAC background, and possess diverse technical capabilities.
The Facility Maintenance Technician will be placed at the appropriate step level and compensation when they begin employment with EWEB. The step is based on previous experience, training, and certifications. The trainee must show completion of all requirements within their assigned step before progressing to the next step.
Step 1 (First 6 months) - $35.1196 per hour
Step 2 (6 - 18 months) - $37.0707 per hour
Journey – $39.0218 per hour
