Holy Family Bilingual, Seattle Assist with cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and restroom maintenance.
Set up and tear down for events, meetings, services, and classroom activities.
Coordinate volunteers to maintain exterior areas including lawns, gardens, sidewalks, parking lots, and playgrounds.
Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf raking, and minor landscaping.
Monitor and address safety hazards and code violations.
Serves as a member of the Parish/School Safety Committee
Ensure maintenance practices are in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Maintain inventory of tools, cleaning supplies, and repair materials.
Coordinate with vendors for service calls or larger repair projects when needed.
Work closely with church staff, school faculty, and volunteers.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
Assist the school personnel
Sets up for special events (e. g. chairs, tables and other event requirements).
Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Flexible schedule and on-call support as needed, including occasional nights and weekends.
Opening/closing buildings and monitoring facility security
Responding to urgent maintenance needs as they arise
Maintenance experience
Ability to perform physical labor (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical and general repairs.
Must pass background check and comply with Safe Environment policies
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Ability to interact positively with staff, students and parishioners

Position: Facilities Maintenance/Custodian for Church & Parochial School
Location: Holy Family Parish and Parochial School
Schedule: Full Time/Monday-Friday

POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Personnel is responsible for performing a variety of routine maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the church and school facilities are clean, safe, and functioning efficiently. This role supports both the ministry and educational operations by maintaining buildings, equipment, and grounds.
II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Overseas the on-going maintenance of buildings and grounds for the Parish and School.
B. Represents the parish when dealing with outside contractors in all major maintenance, construction and renovation projects.
C. Identifies outside contractors, vendors and service providers and negotiates contracts.
D. Performs preventive maintenance to buildings and grounds to minimize plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and heating system failures.
E. Diagnoses problems and makes needed repairs to buildings.
F. Check boilers for proper operation making adjustments as appropriate.
G. Schedule annual Backflow, Boiler and fire extinguisher inspections.
H. Establishes work priorities and provides training and work direction to volunteers and/or janitorial firm.
I. Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and reorders as appropriate.
J. Empties garbage cans throughout the facility as needed or on a scheduled basis.
K. Collects and removes litter from the grounds on a daily basis.
L. Maintains grounds performing functions such as mowing, watering, pruning
M. Coordinates groundkeeper volunteers
N. Makes sure the cleaning crew has all the supplies needed.
O. Assures that buildings are secure when not in use.
P. Facilities Key keeper.
Q. Capable of effectively handling the physical demands of the job, which can involve pushing/lifting 50lbs, climbing ladders, constant bending and lifting, and working from knees or low to the floor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Salary:
Salary range is $25-$30/hour depending on experience, skills and years of service in similar positions. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications.
