      A Brief Overview
      The Facilities Painter's area of primary assignment will be painting and drywall repair of various buildings at Tidelands Health facilities. Due to possible traveling between locations, a valid driver's license is required. Additional assignments or tasks could include general maintenance, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, steam fitting, communications, refrigeration, carpentry/painting, electronics, mechanical and general repairs. The employee may have access to areas where medications are stored, and job functions may include working around medications during the maintenance and upkeep processes of certain equipment. If these job functions are required, the employee will receive competency training specifically on this item. The days/hours will flex based on the needs of the department, and working weekends and overtime would be required if needed. The Facilities Painter may be required to take "on-call" in rotation with other mechanics at the discretion of the Director or Supervisor.

      What you will do
      • Performs skilled painting work in the preparation, patching, finishing, and maintaining of all building structures
      • Inspect the work site to determine the materials, equipment, tools, and method to be used
      • Complete assigned painting projects with quality workmanship by preparing surfaces for painting
      • Restore painting work sites to their original condition at the completion of work by removing scaffolding, painting cloths, tarpaulins, and masking tape used during the project, returning furniture and equipment to their proper location
      • Practice preventive maintenance of painting tools and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition, oiling moving parts, cleaning and servicing tools and equipment as directed, returning damaged tools and equipment for repair or replacement

      Education Qualifications
      • High School Diploma Preferred or
      • Certificate from Trade or technical school or Related formal apprenticeship or other documented education as a painter or related trade Preferred

      Experience Qualifications
      • A minimum of (4) four years’ recent experience as a Painter.
      • May substitute (3) additional years of specialized experience for a total of (7) seven years’ experience for the required education.

      Skills and Abilities
      • Ability to communicate with employees and the public.
      • Ability to complete job assignments with little supervision and numerous interruptions.
      • Ability to perform various physical tasks including walking, climbing, lifting, stooping and other physical activities.
      • Ability to read and interpret technical instruction documents.
      • Ability to handle pressure due to multiple calls and inquires
