- Monitor the performance of all Natural Gas Compression and Decompression sites within the network from the Lincoln Natural Gas facility.
- Address plant/facility issues promptly and escalate as required. Assess the severity of emergency situations and implement appropriate responses.
- Oversee the proper and safe loading of all Tractor Trailers within the DNG fleet.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of Natural Gas facilities including all compression and customer decant facilities.
- Conduct site inspections at all Delivered Natural Gas Compression and Decompression facilities.
- Perform all required preventative, routine and required maintenance on all equipment in the Delivered Natural Gas network.
- Conduct facility and equipment checks and prepare facility/equipment for maintenance and return-to-service.
- Ensure all personnel at DNG facilities conduct themselves in accordance with DNG safe work practices and coach others on facilities operation.
- Follow Operating Discipline principles and practices, including all applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and best practices, as defined by Irving Oil. Follow all safe work practices, operating procedures, and emergency procedures.
- Safety as-a-way-of-life mindset and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Strong decision making and negotiation skills.
- You must be willing and able to wear all PPE.
- 1-3 years of applicable operations experience
- Post-Secondary Education with preference given to applicants with education and/or experience in Electrical, Pipe fitting, Millwright or Instrumentation.
- Computer literacy and a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required.
As a Natural Gas Facilities Technician, you will ensure the safe and reliable operation of the Irving Oil Delivered Natural Gas (DNG) network. Your goal will be to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the DNG supply infrastructure through proper monitoring and maintenance of our Compression Facilities, Decompression Equipment, Tractor Trailers and associated equipment across the DNG network. Your success will depend on your ability to oversee the general and detailed maintenance of our facilities and the safety of its occupants.
Please note: this opportunity includes a rotational shift schedule, which will include nights and weekends. The successful candidate will be expected to work 12 hour shifts on a set schedule.
