Job Description

- Proactively facilitates interaction between Biopharm R&D Departments and GSK Site Facilities in support of day-to-day operations, capital projects, and emergencies.
- Coordinate Preventative and Corrective Maintenance shutdowns of the facility HVAC and utility systems with manufacturing schedule to minimize downtime in the plant.
- Provide technical oversight for the design, specification, construction, installation and commissioning of new equipment and facility upgrades to existing facility as part of capital projects or business led initiatives.
- Own and execute Change Controls through the Management of Change Process.
- Subject Matter Expert for facility and utility impact during internal quality and external agency audits.
- Trainer and management of third-party contractors and vendors.
- Occasional off hour facility support for troubleshooting of utilities alarms.
- Conduct weekly GMP facility walk throughs to proactively identify facility issues and then drive timely resolution.
- Interact with internal and third-party support functions including Site Facility Engineering, Environmental Hazard and Safety, Safety Duty Holders, facility technicians, maintenance trades, housekeeping custodians, and security to ensure safety, quality, business level, and global engineering standards are met.
- Process differential pressure dP alarm reports according to existing procedures. Assist in investigation, processing, and tracking of dP alarms.
- 2 or more years of experience as a Facility Engineer OR related experience working in pharmaceutical processing plant.
- B.S. degree in Engineering
- Knowledge of GMP Utility Systems (Water for Injection, Clean Steam, HVAC) and facility design.
- Broad-based knowledge of Biopharmaceutical processing and associated engineering/maintenance activities.
- Experience with cGMP guidelines for pharmaceutical processing.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in a small project execution, cross-functional team contribution, and troubleshooting.
- Prioritization and self-directed coordination of engineering activities.

As Facility Engineer you will be responsible for providing to a Biopharmaceutical clinical manufacturing pilot plant that utilizes Mammalian Cell Culture, Microbial, and Cell & Gene Therapy processes. You will work within a R&D Biopharmaceutical Product Development and Supply (BPDS) Engineering Department.
