      The Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year lectureship in World History beginning August 2024. Teaching load is 5/5. Ph.D. in History or a doctorate in a related field by date of employment is required. Candidates must have experience teaching in a university setting. The successful candidate must have the ability to teach an Introduction to African History class and World History surveys. The lecturer may have the opportunity to teach a historical methods class and an additional upper-level class.

      Utah Valley University is an open-enrollment state university that strongly emphasizes teaching and is a nationally recognized institution for high impact pedagogy. UVU serves approximately 43,000 students and is located on the western front of the Wasatch Mountains in Orem, Utah, 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.
