The Faculty of Community and Health Sciences at the University of the Western Cape is situated on two campuses namely; Main campus and Bellville campus. The Faculty is one of the leading institutions for the education of community and health sciences professionals in South Africa. The Faculty offers professional qualifications in Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, Community Development, Inter-professional Education, Interdisciplinary Studies of Children Families and Society (CISCFS), Complementary Medicine, Public Health and Biokinetics. We currently have a position available for an experienced administrator to mitigate the clinical and community engagement placement administration responsibilities within the Faculty. Reporting to the Faculty Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for and not limited to: record-keeping and administrative management of student clinical placement component; outreach programmes and transport within the Faculty; operate as a committee officer for selected faculty committee meetings; organising stakeholder meetings with relevant health and tertiary platform partners and communities; manage a clinical placement database as well as associated activities such as student timetabling; transport and record keeping of clinical hours; engaging in data accumulation, processing, analysis and reporting; responsible for processing, monitoring and reporting on clinical training budgets; coordinating the record keeping and monitoring of vehicles on both campuses; liaising with staff members, students, faculty and external community organisations; recordkeeping/monitoring of professional registration of academic staff members involved in clinical placements; recordkeeping/monitoring of interprofessional clinical practice placements; working closely with the Dean/Deputy Dean of Clinical and Community Engagement on clinical placements and engagement related matters.
• A Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) and at least three years higher education academic administration experience or equivalent
• Working knowledge and experience of a financial management system, Student enrolment system and logistics
• Expertise in MS office with advance Excel, Power point and Google products
• Excellent office management and minute taking, record keeping and report writing skills
• Experience with data capturing, processing and reporting
• A valid driver’s licenceAdded advantages
