Basic Function:
The College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) at Kent State University invites applications for multiple full-time, tenure-track faculty positions in Aerospace Engineering with an expected start date of August 2024. Additional Basic Function – if applicable:
We seek multiple outstanding candidates committed to building an externally funded research program consistent with expectations of R1 research institutions. Specific areas of interest are: 1) Space, including, autonomous systems for space vehicles, spacecraft propulsion, astronautics, spacecraft systems and design, satellite design, etc.; and 2) computational aerodynamics, with broad applications including, but not limited to, hypersonic vehicles, UAS, and advanced air mobility.

Minimum Qualifications:
We seek candidates for these positions who have (or will have prior to start of employment) a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline as appropriate. Candidates should have credentials commensurate with developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering, a demonstration of scholarly impact, a record demonstrating the ability to participate in and build a high quality externally funded research program, with the associated ability to supervise research students at all levels, and an ability to participate in collegiate and professional service activities. Experience in teaching students, supervising students, and/or participating in research proposal development is desirable. The successful candidate would be expected to embrace collaborative research activities within the college as well as across and outside the university.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally. Special Instructions Summary:
