Family Community Engagement Specialist @ Family & Community Engagement Department (Internal employees must use the internal link to login & apply.) https://aisd.tedk12.com/hire/internalLogin.aspx Primary Purpose:Encourage family engagement throughout the district and provide ongoing, educational programs to family members, parents/legal guardians of Alief ISD students. Qualifications:Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of school district and community resources Working knowledge of computers, word processing, and database software preferred Ability to present before all segments of the community Ability to train families, staff, principals, and teachers Ability to get along and work with people Ability to work flexible hours (i.e., summer, evenings, and weekends) Bilingual preferred Experience: Prior experience in a public education or family services setting Major Responsibilities and Duties:Program ManagementAssist in planning, coordinating, and implementing a Family Engagement Program in each center. Work closely with campus family centers and family liaisons. Plan and organize Family Support Service workshops. Work closely with at-risk families to ensure they receive continued support for their educational goals. Inform families of community resources that could provide needed assistance. Support and train family liaisons. Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of family center classes and resources. Other Maintain confidentiality. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel. Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds) Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent districtwide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress The full job description for this position is included within this job posting.
