Qualifications:Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of school district and community resources Working knowledge of computers, word processing, and database software preferred Ability to present before all segments of the community Ability to train families, staff, principals, and teachers Ability to get along and work with people Ability to work flexible hours (i.e., summer, evenings, and weekends) Bilingual preferred Experience: Prior experience in a public education or family services setting Major Responsibilities and Duties:Program ManagementAssist in planning, coordinating, and implementing a Family Engagement Program in each center. Work closely with campus family centers and family liaisons. Plan and organize Family Support Service workshops. Work closely with at-risk families to ensure they receive continued support for their educational goals. Inform families of community resources that could provide needed assistance. Support and train family liaisons. Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of family center classes and resources. Other Maintain confidentiality. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
