  Feature Engineer / Solution Architect | Group Services | Risk

  ING is renewing one of their key Risk IT systems. We’re organizing for this job and you as Feature Engineer / Solution Architect may be part of this journey. Functionally you’ll touch the whole bank and Risk policies and calculations applied to the data. Technically you touch state of the art new software architectures, learn how to merge that in an existing application, get familiar with hybrid on premise and off premise solutions. There is a lot to learn you may not find somewhere else.

  The key topics in this initiative require change delivery over multiple squads and tribes.

  Your role

  As Feature Engineer / Solution Architect you play a pivotal role in the solution design of complex epics and features within and across Tribes. Your holistic view as well as your knowledge of both Business and IT are crucial in the translation of business & technical requirements in a sequence that delivers customer value as early as possible. Your success is not based on your hierarchical position, but based on your strong communication and collaboration skills, your results delivered, your extensive knowledge of current and future state and your added value for ING and for the teams you work with.

  Location and team

  The role is Amsterdam HQ based, whereby we apply a hybrid setting of working from office and home. You will be part of a Chapter of Feature Engineers working for the Risk domain in Group Services.

  Role and responsibilities

  • You drive complex design topics within and across Credit Risk and present detailed design options

  • You prepare & support the decision making process with senior leads in the organization and challenge squads when making implementation choices

  • You participate in all aspects of the application lifecycle to safeguard the solution architecture

  • You are able to use modern software libraries/methodology/protocols/patterns to improve performance, testability, CI/CD, sustainability and maintainability

  • You are keen to take reliability, resilience and security aspects into your designs

  • You will be touching large data sets and create designs to modernize data models and data flows

  • You cater for portability in design proposals, considering private and public clouds

  How to succeed

  We are looking for a person who recognizes below skills/experience:

  • Passion for IT and strong technical background

  • Capable to bridge the space between Enterprise Architects and squads

  • Proven track record in reducing complexity and delivering complex IT initiatives across multiple teams

  • In depth IT application, IT infrastructure and feature knowledge. Experience in Risk, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, Multi-Tenancy, Reporting and Java Application architecture is a pre

  • Good in organization, communication, presentation and documentation (to the point written output expected). Self-driving and hands-on.

  • Background in hands-on engineering is a pre considering your designs touch the development ground

  • People recognize you as analytical and entrepreneurial
