Job summary
This prestigious Fellowship in Thyroid/Parathyroid Surgery is available as a fixed termappointment for 12 months from October 2025. The post is a full time based at Lister Hospital inStevenage and is designed to provide a platform for a post CCT surgeon to make the next steptowards working as a consultant.
The fellowship is approved by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) and the BritishAssociation of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons ( BAETS).
This is an excellent opportunity within the ENT unit at the Trust for the appointee to further theirinterest and surgical knowledge in this area. The ENT department performs the largest number ofthyroid/parathyroid cases in Hertfordshire/ Bedfordshire and is a national lead in continuous intraoperative nerve monitoring. It has very close links with the large endocrinology department andsub- regional renal unit at the hospital. It is expected that the successful candidate will gaincompetency in all of Head and Neck surgery, particularly thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
The hospital has an active robotic programme, with the ENT department performing regular transoral robotic surgery as well as Robotic Assisted Thyroidectomy. We expect the fellow to beassisting in the head and neck robotic programme.
