      Provides outpatient diagnostic evaluations and psychotherapeutic treatment services to children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, couple, and group therapy; provides consultation and educational services to community groups and agencies in a manner which respects diversity.

      I. Major Responsibilities:

      1. Provides direct clinical treatment to adults, children and adolescents as represented in the caseload through:
      a) Diagnostic evaluations and screenings
      b) Crisis/emergency assessment and intervention
      c) Treatment planning and assessment
      d) Individual, group, couple and family therapy
      2. Participates in interdisciplinary diagnostic treatment and planning conferences
      3. Consults with area schools, doctors, individuals, and other social service agencies, insurance providers and hospital networks regarding clients, client services and case management
      4. Maintains client records and administrative records consistent with Center policy
      5. Attends administrative staff meetings as required
      6. Attends in-service education, clinical supervision and professional meetings as required
      7. Participates in required trainings
      8. Performs other related job duties.

      Specialty Responsibilities:

      Clinical Team (DD Outpatient):
      1. Coordinate and develop treatment plans per Department of Developmental Disabilities ISP or IEP regulations as required
      2. Provide therapy and/or crisis assessment and planning in the community as required by the DDS contract

      STEP:
      1. Participates as a member of the STEP team consistent with the Coordinated Specialty Care model

      Second Offender Aftercare
      1. Maintains documentation consistent with BSAS requirements
      2. Using identified procedures for the program, ensures random drug screening is completed consistent with BSAS requirements
      3. Provides written reports to probation consistent with BSAS requirements.

      Substance Abuse Outpatient:
      1. May need to transport clients in a personal vehicle

      Standard Staffing Level Responsibilities:

      1. Complies with established division and program policies, procedures, and objectives.
      2. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and trainings as required or directed.
      3. Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
      4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
      5. Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors Maintains regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
      6. Maintains confidentiality.

      All responsibilities are essential job functions.

      II. Position Qualifications:

      License/Certification/Education:
      Required:
      1. Clinician III: Masters degree in a clinical course of study in behavioral health (social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, counseling or related field) that meet the academic requirements for independent licensure in psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or mental health counseling in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Requires licensure as LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or is actively working towards licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
      2. Clinician IV: Masters degree in a clinical course of study (social work, psychology, counseling or related field) and LICSW licensure or licensed Psychologist
      3. For Substance Abuse Outpatient: Must have a current valid US-issued drivers license and a registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients

      4. Driving is not a requirement.

      Experience/Skills:
      Required:
      1. Ability to perform diagnostic and risk assessments using current accepted tools and best practices to determine appropriate level of care
      2. Can develop and implement treatment plans which are behaviorally oriented, measurable, and appropriate for the identified level of care
      3. Able to effectively implement the P.A. and U.M. process and advocate for optimal client care
      4. Clinical expertise specific to the target population with an ability to engage clients effectively and work with other professionals and organizations
      5. Must be able to pass a CORI background check

      Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

      Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

      III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

      1. Must be able to be in a standing position for extended periods of time .
      2. Must be able to move about the space periodically during the shift
      3. Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, medicals codes or alarms).
