      Fayetteville High School is seeking a dynamic and passionate teacher to fill an opening in the Fayetteville Band Program. This position encompasses both the role of Assistant Band Director and Color Guard Director. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the musical and visual excellence of our marching band, concert band, color guard, and winter guard programs. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in music education, music performance, or related field. Arkansas certification in 7-12 Instrumental Music Arkansas certification in 7-12 Physical Education, or willingness to become certified within three years of employment. Experience teaching band at all stages of performer development, woodwind specialist strongly preferred, but all quality candidates will be considered. Experience teaching and designing for competitive guard programs. Proficiency in movement, equipment, and performance techniques as they relate to contemporary color guard performance. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues. Passion for fostering student growth and promoting a positive program culture. Teaching Assignments for this role in the 2023-24 Year Included: Color Guard (Fall)/Winter Guard (Spring) Marching Band Assistant (Fall)/Concert Band (Spring) Adapted Dance (Fall and Spring) Music Appreciation (Fall and Spring) Previous Teaching Assignments for this role have included and may include: Beginning Band Classes (all instruments) Assisting Jr. High Concert Band Extra Duties as assigned
