- Perform routine calibration of electronic and fiber optic test equipment following established procedures.
- Diagnose faults with electronic and fiber optic test equipment.
- Repair and calibrate fiber optic fusion splicing equipment.
- Maintain documentation pertaining to the service process.
- Handle all calibration and service-related tasks for customer products.
- Create necessary certificates, KPI reports, and other relevant paperwork.
- Fault-find and repair component-level surface mount and conventional PCB assemblies.
- Coordinate with Production for customer unit repairs.
- Schedule work to meet customer deadlines.
- Document all work performed on customer equipment and log each process stage on the RMA system.
- Prepare service quotes, estimates, and invoices.
- Invoice customers for completed work.
- Prepare shipping documentation and provide tracking information.
- Ensure all test and calibration equipment are up to date with quality systems.
- Manage the spare parts warehouse to meet customer needs.
- Ensure RMAs meet company SLA's.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of company products.
- Suggest improvements for departmental processes.
- Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Perform additional tasks as required for the business.
- Electronics certification.
- 2 years of experience in repair and calibration of electronic equipment or instruments.
- Experience in troubleshooting and calibration.
- Experience with optical and fiber optic technologies, particularly fusion splicing.
- Proficiency in using an ERP or RMA system.
- Understanding of circuit schematics and troubleshooting methods.
- Experience with oscilloscope and DMM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages – WORD & EXCEL.
- Ability to inspect and recognize defective products.
- Understanding of working within a Quality Management System environment.
- Certified Production Technician (CPT) or equivalent.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Technical experience in an electronics production environment.

Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Fiber Optics Technician to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair test instruments while maintaining accurate documentation throughout the service process.

Work Environment
You will be working at a workbench in a production environment, independently managing tasks. You will report remotely to a supervisor until the new Operations Manager starts. Currently, you will be the only Service Technician at this new location in NJ. Collaboration with other team members may be required. The working hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.

This is a Permanent position based out of Rockaway, New Jersey.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $58240.00/yr.
Trend overs medical, dental, 401k and PTO benefits.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Rockaway,NJ.
