- Building key technical relationships at top accounts demonstrating great technical credibility increasing customer technical confidence in NI
- Understanding and assisting in creation of customer technical requirements.
- Provide recommendations on software and hardware architectures while helping to understand the next steps to ensure success
- Collaborating with the NI Account Manager(s) as part of an account team to lead development and execution of the account technical strategy providing insight to the overall account strategy and pipeline
- Coordinating with and informing internal technical stakeholders to execute on account technical initiatives and provide feedback to increase account success
- Leveraging industry, application area, and account knowledge to uncover and influence customer future technical needs and challenges generating further technical demand for NI products, services, and support
- BS degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math)
- 8+ years total work experience of relevant Test and Measurement Industry, 5+ years of experience of demonstrated excellent ADG project support and industry relationships
- Experience communicating directly with customers in a Support Role
- Practical experience in Test & Measurement system design, verification and debugging
- RF test knowledge and related project experience
- Understanding of ATE, HIL (Hardware In loop) and SIL (System In Loop) test, related project experience is a plus
- Programming skills applied in a Test & Measurement environment using programming languages such as TestStand, VeriStand, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C/C++/C# etc., including developer certifications
- Experience implementing a technical strategy that resulted in achievement of short range (12-18 months) and long range (3-5 years) revenue growth through account support plan management and strategies
- Fast learning ability of new technology Prefer knowledge in GNC (Guidance, Navigation and Control), electromechanical and avionics systems
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in French and English.
- Position located in Paris Area (France)
- Willing and able to travel – within France (20% estimated), EMEA and US (5% estimated)
EMEA Field Sales has an immediate opening for a Field Applications Engineer (FAE) based in France, specifically in the Paris area, focusing on a selected group of Aerospace, Defense and Government (ADG) accounts in France.
Objective of the Role
NI Field Application Engineers (FAEs) are technical experts and trusted advisors who contribute to the success of key accounts and NI’s company strategy. They generate and execute technical demand while providing solutions and guidance for customers’ engineering challenges. They also influence the technical direction of target accounts and NI to ensure long-term mutual benefits. This is a unique role that requires not only technical leadership, but also strong interpersonal and relationship development skills, customer-facing experience, business acumen, and personal drive.
Position Overview
The best NI FAEs effectively balance their time between face-to-face technical interactions with target customers, technical demand generation activities, and providing insight and feedback as the voice of the customer. FAEs serve as highly trusted technical consultants, allowing them to influence the technical direction of target accounts and NI to ensure mutual customer and NI long-term success. They inspire NI internal technical stakeholders and engineers on the customer’s side to action through leading and coordinating technical strategy and activities to achieve co-authored technical objectives for top accounts. They stay in tune with industry trends and the NI technology roadmap to recommend approaches for customers’ current and future technical needs.
