- Develop and prepare site exploration plans.
- Coordinate with property owners and agencies in obtaining permits required for accessing sites and performing drilling.
- Coordinate with drillers and other agencies in scheduling the drilling activities.
- Logging and sampling of soil borings and test pits.
- Data entry such as laboratory test results and assisting with laboratory tests.
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering reports.
- Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, geosciences, or civil engineering from an accredited college or university required
- G.I.T. certification is preferred
- Possess understanding and knowledge of natural resources, environmental science, and geosciences, and have completed college chemistry coursework.
- Must be computer literate and learn software for communication, project management, and technical analysis.
- Technical writing skills preferred.
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid passport and travel internationally at times.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record
Job Description
Fugro’s geological and geophysical survey services provide value to your project, either alone or as a key component of an integrated site characterization effort to gain insight into ground conditions. The information helps to understand the nature and variability of ground conditions at a site or along a corridor, to guide the development of your targeted site investigation program, to determine specific engineering properties and for assessment of ground risks.
The Field Geologist - Land will be a self-starter who can work effectively in a remote setting and will be responsible for completing all facets of an environmental and geotechnical site investigation by environmental regulations, including project and task management, subcontractor and vendor coordination, reporting, and invoice management. This individual will also be tasked with client management and proposal preparation/lead generation. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply for this opportunity!
