POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARYThe HR Generalist role is responsible for implementation and oversight of Human Resource policies and programs which support organizational, divisional, and assigned regional hotels goals. The person in this role will plan, organize, and lead activities supporting the assigned regions/hotels, including developing goals, objectives and processes while ensuring expected compliance. Effectively communicate and provide advice and guidance on the administration of personnel policies as they relate to employee relations, investigations, training, and other HR related activities. Also provide recruiting support for assigned searches or hotels.MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES* Ensure that ESAs shared values are followed and positioning ESA as a great place to work for the purposes of recruitment and retention of field associates
* Effectively communicate and provide advice and guidance on the interpretation of personnel policies as they relate to employee relations and the company objectives.
* Support, recruit, and staff all assigned hotels in their efforts to meet growth objectives, profitability, and employee/customer satisfaction.
* Develop and manage employee retention initiatives, training programs, and reporting.
* Lead and monitor new employee Best Day Ever onboarding and compliance.
* Conduct research to formulate analysis, design, develop and implement training programs and policy and procedures to support established goals.
* Develop, research, recommend, implement, review, and administer human resource functions relative to payroll, benefits, personnel records and reporting for assigned business unit.
* Ensure associates and management staff adhere to established policies, procedures, and controls.
* Provide coaching, recognition, motivation, and skill development to management.
* Advise on staff performance evaluation and suggest areas for skill development.
* Coordinate the recruitment process through the Application Tracking System (ATS): To include creating requisitions, reviewing applications, and forwarding qualified applicants to the hiring manager, scheduling interviews, extending offers, initiating the background check, and boarding the candidate.
* Serve as primary point of HR contact for assigned regions/hotel group.
* Assist in the administration of annual performance management, compensation, and succession planning activities as well as other routine HR initiatives or annual processes.
* Conduct investigations related to allegations, complaints, EEOC issues, litigation or CAP line calls as directed by their HR Director.
* Ensure compliance across the assigned regions with new hire processing requirements with particular focus on I-9 compliance, background check, and other related processes.
* Assist in sourcing candidates for hard to fill positions through job postings, referrals, social media, networking, and other resources.
* Partner with HSC and hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, understand position requirements and maintain communication throughout the recruitment process.
* Ensure compliance with all State and Federal regulations as well as Company policies.
* Remain up to date on recruiting best practices and effective means for attracting job candidates.
* Serve as point of contact with HRIS and Payroll regarding the resolution of associate issues.
* Analyze reports and information relative to turnover, position time to fill, compliance and develop strategies to improve success in these areas.
* All other duties as needed or required.
OTHER DUTIES* Prepare reports regarding recruitment activity.
* Develop network to create a pipeline for high turnover/hard to fill positions.
* May conduct phone screens for specific positions as needed.
* Assist with job fairs, onsite recruiting as needed; May require overnight travel.
* Assist with additional HR responsibilities as needed.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & COMPETENCIES* Knowledgeable about HR management practices, with strong customer service orientation.
* Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal. Comfortable giving presentations to both large and small groups.
* Effective organizational and analytical skills.
* Knowledge of current recruitment practices and employment laws (i.e., EEO, ADA, Affirmative Action, etc.).
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint programs.
* Strong problem-solving, negotiation & follow-up skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships and work effectively with managers, senior business leaders and external partners.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
* Always maintain a high level of confidentiality.
* Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTSThis position will be based remotely. Must have existing reliable high-speed internet, a designated workspace in order to conduct and attend confidential meetings via phone, webinars, online trainings.Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Bachelor's degree - preferably in Human Resources, Psychology, Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum 1 years of related HR/recruiting experience.
* Self-motivated, ability to work independently with minimal oversight and strong bias for action and sense of urgency.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years combined HR experience, in a generalist role preferred.
* Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, preferred.
* Experience with Human Resource Information Systems preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of California labor law, PHR or PHR-CA strongly preferred.Notice
